HPS Celebrate Success During Ongoing Fall Athletic Season

HULL --Superintendent Judith Kuehn and Director of Athletics and Intramurals 6-12 Connor Duhaime are pleased to share the ongoing success of various Hull High School athletic teams during the fall season.

Girls Soccer

Under the direction of Head Coach Stew Bell, the Hull High School Varsity Girls Soccer Team was the first team to clinch a spot in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) Division 5 State Tournament with its 10th victory of the season. Currently fourth in the division, the Pirates are on pace to host a home-state tournament game.

Boys Soccer

Under the direction of Head Coach Tom O’Callaghan, the Hull High School Varsity Boys Soccer Team has competed with the best teams in the league, with the goal of obtaining a top-32 seed and a playoff berth.

Football

Under the direction of Head Coach Mike O'Donnell, the Hull High School Varsity Football Team is one win away from clinching its third straight playoff berth. The Hull High School Varsity Football Team is the defending Division 8 Super Bowl Champion and will be hosting a Thanksgiving Day football game.

Cheerleading

Under the direction of first-year Head Coach John Gilbert, the Hull High School Varsity Cheerleading Team is preparing for its first competition of the season at noon on Sunday, Oct. 29 at Marshfield High School.

The team’s second competition of the season will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 1 as part of the South Shore League event at Abington High School.

Hull High Athletic Hall of Fame

The Hull High School Athletic Department will be inducting the fifth class into the Hull High School Athletic Hall of Fame this November. Inductees will be honored at halftime during the Thanksgiving Day football game at Hull High School.

Hull High School Sportsmanship Honor Award

Hull High School earned the Sportsmanship Honor Award for the years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022, as presented by the MIAA. This award is presented to schools that have not had any student-athletes or coaches disqualified or suspended from an athletic program during the school year.

“This is a testament to our student-athletes, as well as our coaches!” said Director Duhaime. “Both our student-athletes and our coaches work each day to set examples of sportsmanship both on and off the field. This recognition is one that is well deserved.”

Winter Outlook

The Hull High School winter athletic season is around the corner. Tryouts for winter sports will take place on Monday, Nov. 27 at Hull High School. Registration information has been sent out to all students and parents.

This season, Hull High School will offer a variety of sports and co-op opportunities with Cohasset and Hingham, including hockey and gymnastics.

Winter Sports Meeting

The Hull High School Athletic Department will host a meeting for players and parents who are interested in participating in any winter sport.

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. in the Hull High School Auditorium.

During the meeting, parents and players will have the opportunity to meet with coaches and staff to talk about the upcoming season.
