Jacobs School Leadership Announcements

July 6, 2022

Dear Hull Community,

I am excited to share that after conducting a competitive search for the Director of Curriculum and Assessment leadership position, that Mrs. Cappadona has accepted our offer to serve in this role.  We met some excellent candidates, but found that Mrs. Cappadona’s experience and track record at the Jacobs School and devotion to the Hull community for the past 22 years placed her at the top of the list.  I am excited to see what she will accomplish on behalf of our talented teachers and hardworking students across the District. How lucky are we that she is willing to take on this new challenge! Congratulations, Mrs. Cappadona!

With Mrs. Cappadona moving to a new role I’m sure you are wondering who will fill her shoes as Principal of the Jacobs School. We are fortunate that Mr. Shaw, who has competently served as the Assistant Principal of the Jacobs School for seven years and has worked in the Hull Public Schools since 2008, can seamlessly move to the role of Principal.  The District always strives to attract and secure the most qualified person for each position and to build ongoing leadership and career growth opportunities for our talented teachers and staff. We are thrilled to announce that Mr. Shaw will be taking over as Principal beginning July 11th. Again, how lucky are we! Congratulations, Mr. Shaw!

I believe Mrs. Cappadona and Mr. Shaw’s stepping up to the plate will provide the stability our educators, students, and families need and deserve.  Change is never easy, but evolution is necessary, and all of the recent changes in our District will enable us to grow and thrive together!

There is important summer work for the District Leadership Team to accomplish and we are working hard to identify the right fit for the two Assistant Principal roles we are looking to fill. Every position, no matter how visible or behind the scenes, makes this school district great. Congratulations again to Mrs. Cappadona and Mr. Shaw and here’s to a fantastic 2022-23 school year! Should you have any questions, please reach out.

We look forward to seeing all of our students in August and hitting the ground running. Until then, best wishes for a healthy and restful summer!
