Message to Families

Dear Hull Community:

We have been carefully and extensively studying the issue of declining enrollment in the Hull Public Schools for several years now.  While doing so, we were consistently guided by the standard of “What is in the best interest of students”.  Last night at the January 23 School Committee meeting, the committee voted to implement phase one of the proposed reconfiguration plan, beginning this fall at the start of the 2023 – 2024 school year.

Phase one of the grade reconfiguration plan will be as follows:

     * Jacobs Elementary School will house grades PreK – 6,
     * Memorial Middle School will house grades 7 and 8, and
     * Hull High School will continue to house grades 9 – 12

We will move forward with plans to accommodate grade 6 in the Jacobs School and we will share additional details with families as they develop.  Additionally, Mr. Kyle Shaw, Jacobs School Principal, will be meeting with the current grade 5 students to let them know about this change and to share his excitement about having them as leaders of the Jacobs School for one more year!

Your continued support is appreciated as the district moves forward with phase one.

With Hull Pirate Pride,

Judy
