For those of you who are still having difficulty with google classroom, or just want a refresher you can "Click Here" for a quick parent's guide to google classroom.

Hi Boys and Girls,

I hope you are all doing well and staying safe.   We are now in our 3rd week of what is called remote learning, and all the work that you went home with should almost be finished.  So now it's time for a few more assignments.  This is our new area to get all our work. Every day you can log onto this site and click on the Homework tab to see that day's assignments.  Many of the assignments will be located in google classroom.

When you log onto google classroom, you will need a class code:

Ms Mellyn's homeroom code is d4jspei

Mrs. King's homeroom code is 564ymxv

Mrs. McCarthy's homeroom code is zjm2b7v

You can simply copy the code here and paste it in google classroom.

If for some reason you cannot use google classroom don't worry I will be emailing your assignments to your parents like we have been doing.  You should still try to log onto this site to see what they are.

Remember if you have any questions please reach out to me and ask.  One of the things I like best about this difficult time in our lives is the emails you send me letting me know how you are doing.  Please keep them coming.

Be Safe,

Ms. Mellyn

I hope everyone had a safe, happy, fun, and relaxing vacation.  I am looking forward to an exciting and successful school year.

Just a few bits of information that I thought might be helpful:

Daily Planner
A folder to transport important notices and corrected work has been provided to each child as well as a daily planner to keep track of homework.  Please make every effort to look at your child’s planner every night.

Snack
Please make sure that your child has had a good breakfast and comes to school with a healthy snack.

Homework
Homework is assigned daily in mathematics and reading  Every child is expected to complete 30 minutes of silent reading a night and to study their math facts.  With the exception of special long-term assignments, reports, or projects, homework is not usually assigned on the weekends.  Students are expected to turn homework in on time.  Quality is emphasized and expected.  Homework is an essential part of your child’s grade.

Please encourage your child to be responsible for completing his/her assignments and for accepting consequences when he/she is not responsible.

In closing, I ask you to help prepare your child for a great day by making sure he/she has time for a balanced breakfast and design a schedule that ensures your child is well rested. I also suggest that your child read quietly at bedtime or that you read to your child.

Please feel free to contact me at the school office with any questions or concerns.  I look forward to meeting you individually at Parent Conferences.
