Judith Kuehn Named New Superintendent of Hull Public Schools

HULL -- The Hull School Committee is pleased to share that Judith Kuehn has been named the new Superintendent of Hull Public Schools.

The Hull School Committee unanimously approved Kuehn's appointment at a meeting on Monday, May 4 and she will begin in her new position immediately.

"Hull Public Schools has been a wonderful place to work for a large part of my career," Kuehn said. "I am honored to have been selected to serve in this role and I am looking forward to continuing to work with the educators and staff in our district."

Kuehn has served as the district's assistant superintendent of curriculum, instruction and professional development since 2012, during which time she oversaw and coordinated K-12 curriculum, professional development, state and federal grant management, English language learning, Title I, the new teacher induction program and home-schooled students. In 2017, the director of student services position was eliminated and she took on the role of director of student services in addition to her responsibilities as assistant superintendent. She was also responsible for the implementation and evaluation of a number of tools, programs and policies for the district's staff, students and families.

Prior to 2012, Kuehn served as the director of student services at Hull Public Schools for four years where she oversaw special education, school nurses and medical services, 504’s, grant writing, preschool, guidance and counseling and the Special Education Parent Advisory Council.

Kuehn's career has also included roles as the special education administrator at Sharon Public Schools, a high school special education teacher and middle school coordinator at the CHARMS Collaborative in Weymouth and a middle school special education teacher at the Braintree Public Schools. She began her career as an elementary school teacher in Houston, Texas.

Kuehn holds a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Educational Leadership from Bridgewater State University, a master's degree in education from the University of Houston and a bachelor's degree in education with concentrations in special education and elementary education from Lesley University.

Kuehn is a Massachusetts licensed superintendent/assistant superintendent, special education administrator and school business administrator. She is a past president of the South Shore Superintendent's Association and the current chair of the K-12

Technology Committee. She is also a member of the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents, Council for Exceptional Children and Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), among other professional affiliations.

Kuehn had previously been named acting superintendent of the schools on Feb. 3 and interim superintendent on Feb. 11.
