CARES Act Information regarding financial aid

Information regarding the CARES Act has been shared by Ernest Minelli, founder of My Action Plan for College.

Greetings!  We hope that this message finds you and your family doing well.  I wanted to share the following information with you if it may be helpful for Hull High School students and families, especially for those students in the Class of 2020.  Please feel free to share this information if you would like.

Recently, there has been increasing news coverage of federal stimulus money that colleges and universities have received under the CARES Act.  The good news: colleges and universities receiving such funds are required to direct a “Minimum Allocation to be Awarded for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.”

Therefore, if you have been negatively impacted by recent economic events, and especially if you have already qualified for some form of need-based and/or merit-based financial aid, then it would behoove you to contact your financial aid representative to learn the process for seeking reconsideration of your overall financial situation with regard to paying for your education.

Please share this information with siblings and friends as well who may already be in college, because these relief opportunities are allocated by each specific school, according to whatever guidelines that the college/university may have in place for their undergraduate students.
