Principal’s Newsletter – March 2022

Hello Hull High School Families,

We have returned from February break happy to be showing off our smiles after almost two years of mask wearing.  We have a busy month coming up at Hull High School.  Here are some of the March highlights:

Progress reports for term 3 will be posted on the Aspen portal tomorrow.  Please reach out to your child’s teachers or guidance counselor with any concerns about your child’s progress.

We have an early release day tomorrow as well, with dismissal time at 12:00 so staff can participate in professional development opportunities.

On Friday, March 4th all sophomore students will be taking the PSAT 10.  This is a great way for students to gain experience with this standardized test before taking the actual SAT later in high school.

Spirit Week will be held the week of March 14th.  We will have a different theme each day for students to show their spirit and support their grade level as they compete against each other for the most school spirit.

The annual Music in Our Schools Month Family Band Concert is back and live on Wednesday March 16th.  The performance will be held in the high school gym and starts at 6pm.  Doors open at 5:30pm.  This is a FREE show and all are welcome.

Hull High Theatre Arts will perform a student run production of the play Tartuffe by Moliere at the Massachusetts Educational Theatre Guild Festival (METG) on March 19th at Duxbury High School. The students will perform their show alongside other local schools and compete for the METG state title. The students will then perform the show at Hull High School in the spring.  Details will come at a later date regarding this spring performance.

ELA MCAS testing will take place for sophomores on March 22nd and 23rd.

The Senior Class will be hosting a winter semi-formal dance for all grade levels on March 25th at 6pm at the high school.  More information will be shared with students as the date approaches.

Finally, we’d like to wish our winter sports teams the best of luck at they compete in their state tournament games.  Games are as follows:

March 1st - Girls Varsity Basketball vs St. Joseph’s Prep – 6:30pm at Hull High School

March 4th - Boys Varsity Basketball vs Douglas High School – 6:30pm at Hull High School

March 5th - Hockey vs Hamilton-Wenham – 12:00pm Puck drop – Connell Rink, Weymouth

Masks will be optional for all home games and tickets will be on sale at the door for each game. Adult tickets are $7 and Children/Seniors are $5 for each basketball game. Hockey ticket prices are TBD.

We are very proud of our student athletes earning spots in the state tournaments!

Go Pirates!
